Introduction

Paste and paste insert a clip into the timeline in DaVinci Resolve

Sometimes it is necessary to copy and paste clips into the timeline. Using the right-click of the mouse there are two options:

  1. paste
  2. paste insert

How to

Simpe paste

  1. Go to edit page.
  2. Select a clip.
  3. Right-click on the clip.
  4. Copy the clip.
  5. Move the playhead where the clip should be pasted.
  6. Right click.
  7. "Paste" the clip.

This action overwrites clips located on the same lane as the copied clip.

Paste insert

  1. Go to edit page.
  2. Select a clip.
  3. Right-click on the clip.
  4. Copy the clip.
  5. Move the playhead where the clip should be pasted.
  6. Right click.
  7. "Paste insert" the clip.

This action inserts the clip on the same lane as the copied clip, by moving rights all the clips located after the playhead and splitting in two all the clips touched by the playhead.
