Media storage locations are source locations used to manage media. They are links created in DaVinci Resolve to easily located footage and media files to be imported into projects. They can be stored in local or network locations. It is a good practice to add to the media storage locations, all the folders often used when editing in DaVinci Resolve.
Where to find them
Davinci Resolve >> Preferences >> System >> Media Storage
Media page
Media storage locations should appear by default. In case they are not visible click on the "Media storage" icon on the top bar.
Actions
- Add a new folder to source locations in DaVinci Resolve.
- Remove folder from source location list in DaVinci Resolve.
- Automatically display attached local and network storage locations in DaVinci Resolve.
Errors
Cache file location
The top folder in the media storage location list, is the folder used to create cache file while DaVinci is running. This folder should be on the local device and not in a remote/network folder (this folder should be permanently connected to your system).
