Delete a clip on the edit page timeline in DaVinci Resolve

By following these steps, you can easily delete a clip from the timeline in DaVinci Resolve during the editing process.

Delete the selected clip

To delete a clip on the timeline in DaVinci Resolve, follow these steps:

  1. Select the Clip: Click on the clip you want to delete in the timeline to select it. The selected clip will be outlined or highlighted, indicating that it's active.
  2. Delete the Clip:
    1. Press the "Backspace" key on your keyboard.
    2. Right-click on the selected clip and choose "Delete Selected" from the context menu.
    3. Alternatively, you can use the "Edit" menu at the top of the screen and select "Delete" from there.
  3. Confirm Deletion: If prompted, confirm that you want to delete the selected clip.
  4. Review Timeline: After deleting the clip, review your timeline to ensure that the edit has been applied correctly and that there are no unintended changes.


Delete the selected clip and all the other parallel clips/effects

Follow the steps as above, but instead of using "Backspace" use the button "Del". The selected clip and all the other clips at the same point in time on the timeline will be deleted.
