Introduction

Add files to a DaVinci Resolve project

One of the first steps when starting a new project in DaVinci Resolve is to add necessary footage to the Media Pool. This action is described in this article and the link to the video that shows it is available below.

Later it could be useful to know how to organize media in folders.

It is important to remember that when clips are added into Davinci Resolve Projects, a reference is created within the DaVinci Database for the specific project. If the original media file is moved into another location, those references in the project database must be updated. See also Change clip source folder when files are moved in DaVinci Resolve.

How to

  1. Open the page "Media".
  2. On the "media storage" (top left) select the folder where media is located.
  3. Drag and drop clips from the selected folder to the project bin (bottom area).

Clips are now ready to be used in the DaVinci project.
