Introduction

Horizontal zoom on the timeline in DaVinci Resolve

To have a good overview of the full timeline, or to work on it with an optimal level of details, there are two preset levels of zoom in DaVinci resolve, or if that is not enough it is always possible to change them according to the needs.

How to

Full extent zoom

This preset zoom shows the full timeline from beginning to end, adapting the timeline to the screen size. On the timeline bar click on the icon "Full Extent Zoom".

Shortcut:

shift + z

Detail zoom

detailed zoom button

This preset zoom shows good detail of the timeline centered around the playhead, adapting the timeline to the screen size. Move the playhead over the frame you want to focus on and on the timeline bar, click on the icon "Detail Zoom".


Custom zoom button

This customizable zoom level can be managed by using the slider between the signs "+" and "-" on the timeline bar. It is also possible to click on the icon "+" and "-".
